AUSTIN, Texas — Winning is contagious in this Texas town.
A Longview resident claimed a $3 million prize in a Texas Lottery scratch-off game, becoming the third multimillion-dollar prize winner over the past year, the Longview News-Journal reported.
On June 7, the Texas Lottery said in a news release that Lotto Texas quick-pick ticket matched all six numbers for a $5 million payday. That person has not claimed the prize, the News-Journal reported.

In September 2020, a Longview resident won a $5 million prize in a Texas Lottery scratch-off game, the newspaper reported. That person decided to remain anonymous.
The most recent winner, who has also chosen to remain anonymous, won the $3 million prize playing the $750 Winner’s Circle game, the Texas Lottery said in a news release.
The winner bought the ticket at Murphy Express, the News-Journal reported. Mary Farrier, an employee at the convenience store, said Tuesday that the winner traveled to Austin to claim his prize, the newspaper reported.

“He came in and said hi,” Farrier said.
Farrier said selling the big-money ticket has given the store some bragging rights.
“We’ve told customers that we sold one,” Farrier told the News-Journal. “To know that we sold it is fun.”
Longview is located in northeastern Texas between Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana.
