Alabama couple attacked by man hiding in their home’s closet, police say

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Two Alabama residents were injured Friday when a man hiding in their home closet jumped out and cut them, authorities said.

According to the Huntsville Police Department, officers responded to the home in Huntsville at about 1:07 p.m. CDT, WAFF-TV reported.

The homeowners said they discovered a man hiding in their closet, and the assailant jumped out and cut both of them, according to the television station.

It is unclear how the man entered the home, or which room he was in when the residents discovered him.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, WHNT-TV reported.

The man fled the home and remains at large, WAAY-TV reported.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
