No joke: Dunkin’ offering free cup of coffee on April Fools’ Day to rewards members

No foolin’. Dunkin’ is offering free coffees to rewards members for April Fools’ Day.

In a blog, the coffee and doughnut chain said it was giving away 1,000,001 free coffees to customers who are Dunkin’ Rewards members.

“Last April Fools’, we gave away a million free coffees, and some of you thought it was a prank. We didn’t forget that,” the company wrote. “So this year, we’re doing it again. Just a little bigger.”

The company joked that the extra free cup of coffee “is for anyone still not convinced.”

To get that free morning pick-me-up, members should open their Dunkin’ app and type in the code “STILLNOTAJOKE.”

The free coffee certificate is valid for seven days after the promotional code is entered, Dunkin’ said. The offer is limited to one cup per customer. Cold Brew and Extra-Large Hot Coffee items are not included in the promo.

“April Fools’ might come with some trust issues, but we’re here to help you get through it,” the company wrote in its blog. “Whether you’re dodging office pranks or scrolling past one too many fake announcements, we’ve got your back -- and your coffee.

“Happy April Fools’ Day. And yes, this is still not a joke."
