While summer barbecues are more on the mind than turkey dinner right now, the company announced Friday that all U.S. stores will be closed Nov. 25 as a thank you to employees.

“Throughout the pandemic, our associates have been nothing short of heroic in how they have stepped up to serve customers and their communities,” Dacona Smith, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Walmart U.S., said in a statement. “Closing our stores on Thanksgiving Day is one way we’re saying ‘thank you’ to our teams for their dedication and hard work this year. We hope everyone will take the opportunity to be with their loved ones during what’s always a special time.”

Walmart will release Black Friday details later, USA Today reported.

The stores will be open for normal hours the day before Thanksgiving, on Nov. 24.

Target announced in January that its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, CNBC reported.
