Tone Stith

New Jersey native Tone Stith is a rounded contemporary R&B artist whose work as a falsetto-equipped singer, songwriter, and producer explores the ups and downs of love and lust. His career received a boost when he co-wrote "Liquor," a platinum 2015 single for Chris Brown. Soon after, Stith delivered his major-label debut album, the ballad-oriented Can We Talk (2017). After a handful of EP-length projects like FWM and P.O.V (2023), he made numerous featured appearances on singles by Jaz Karis and Camper, among many others, and eventually returned to headliner status with a few 2025 singles, including the equally defiant and amiable "Shut Up."

Born and raised in Marlton, New Jersey, Antonio "Tone" Stith became involved with music at a very early age. Familiar with playing drums by his teens, he eventually learned how to use production software, and in church, he honed his singing talent, which came naturally as the son of a vocalist who had performed with Patti LaBelle. Also while in his teens, Stith was part of the group SJ3, who caught the attention of Jas Prince, the key figure behind Drake's ascent.

Stith eventually went solo with Prince in his corner, and he subsequently co-wrote "Make Love" and "Liquor" for Chris Brown's Royalty album. The latter song was released as a lead single in June 2014, reached number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100, and went platinum within five months. During the next two years, Stith was featured on songs by artists Von and PARRI$. His debut album, Can We Talk, arrived in 2017 on Prince's Young Empire Music Group (YEMG) and major-label RCA, with production from the duo PRBLMSLVRS. "Light Flex," a new jack swing throwback featuring 2 Chainz, appeared on the Uncle Drew soundtrack in 2018. Later that year, Stith issued the Good Company EP, which featured Swae Lee and Quavo on the title cut and Ty Dolla $ign on "Take It There." A non-album track, "Devotion," arrived in 2020. In June 2021, Stith returned with the full-length FWM, which featured guest spots by H.E.R., Lonr., and Kiana Ledé. Still FWM arrived shortly afterward, with appearances by Chris Brown, Maeta, and Kenneth Paige. The 2022 singles "What's Good" (with Skylar Stecker) and "B.E.D." led the way to Stith's next project, P.O.V. The seven-song set, released in 2023, was anchored by the lovelorn single "Girls Like You." That October, he opened for Victoria Monét in New York.

Starting with Jaz Karis' "Met You at a Bar" in early 2024, Stith worked extensively as a collaborator, co-writing and appearing on additional songs by the likes of PxRRY, Shantel May, and Aaron Page, as well as Elijah Blake, Elhae, Camper, and Jack Dine. "Shut Up," his first single in a couple years, appeared in July 2025. The track began his association with MNRK Records and was soon followed by "Let It Snow" (an original) and "Fly." Both singles were out before the end of the year. ~ Andy Kellman
