Daytona man threatened to kill Rick Ross’s Son

The Roberts boys can’t seem to catch a break these days. According to police, Rick Ross’ son was pistol-whipped in Daytona, just weeks after his rapper dad was arrested on domestic violence charges.

William Roberts III, who is a member of the football team at Bethune-Cookman University, was talking to a woman on the street in Daytona Beach around 9:40 p.m. on Oct. 11 when someone pulled up in a car, got out with a gun and shouted at Roberts, making reference to his famous dad.

“I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” the suspect yelled, according to an arrest report.

The gunman didn’t open fire, but hit William over the head with the gun, before speeding off in his car, according to police. He didn’t get far, after being identified by William, he was arrested.

The suspect, Don Roberts, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail on no bond.
