According to WBNS, police in Berea responded Sept. 18 to reports of a man with a stab wound to the foot at the 7 Floors of Hell attraction at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, but instead found an 11-year-old victim.

A family member with the boy told police that they were approached by one of the actors, who was wielding a bowie knife as a prop, outside the haunted house, WHIO reported.

The actor apparently attempted to stab at the ground in front of the boy and his family member, when he accidentally stabbed into the boy’s red croc and cut his toe, according to WBNS.

Staff members administered first aid, and the boy - who refused further medical attention - proceeded through the haunted house, WOIO reported.

According to the police report, the 22-year-old staff member who stabbed the boy told officers “it was not a good idea” to bring the knife from home and insisted that the incident and subsequent injury were accidental, WBNS reported.

The knife was taken into police custody, and no criminal charges have been filed, WOIO reported.
