The Boo Buckets, officially named “McBoo,” “McPunk’n” and “McGoblin,” first appeared in 1986, and will be returning to McDonald’s restaurants nationwide beginning Oct. 18, the company said in a news release. The buckets will be available until Oct. 31 or while supplies last.
The trick-or-treat buckets were offered with kids’ Happy Meals when they were initially introduced. The new ones will be offered as part of a nostalgic Happy Meal, McDonald’s said.
This will be the first time the Boo Buckets are made available since 2016, CNET reported.
McDonald’s offered suggestions for how to continue using the Boo Buckets after Halloween, including using them as planters or as drums.
