80s classic tv show ‘Knight Rider’ to be adapted into movie

A film based on the cult-classic TV series “Knight Rider” is in the works, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Spyglass Media is working with James Wan and Michael Clear from the film and television production company, Atomic Monsters, to develop the filem according to Deadline Hollywood.

The 80s series that inspired the movie aired from 1982 to 1986. The show featured a high-tech crime fighter in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with artificial intelligence. David Hasselhoff played “Michael Knight,” an undercover detective for the LAPD. His car, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was an indestructible and self-aware sidekick in the series.

Details on the plot and a release date have not yet been released.
