Actor and comedian Bill Murray got into a confrontation with a photographer at a restaurant in Martha's Vineyard, that ended with Murray pouring a glass of water on him, according to police.

- Actor and comedian Bill Murray got into a confrontation with a photographer that ended with Murray dumping a glass of water on the other man’s head, according to the Boston Globe.

Peter Simon, 71, said he was taking photos for a band performing at a restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday night, when Murray accused him of taking his picture, according to the Associated Press.

Simon said Murray grabbed him and slammed him against a door, threatening to throw him out of the restaurant.

“He looked like he was ready to strangle me,” Simon told the Boston Globe.

Simon said he continued to shoot photographs inside the restaurant after the confrontation with Murray.

According to the Boston Globe, Murray walked over and poured a glass of water on him and his camera when he was seated at a table.

“He treated me like the scum of the earth,” said Simon.

Murray told police Simon was taking pictures and harassing him while he was “quietly minding his business,” according to the police report obtained by the Boston Globe. Police said Murray appeared to be “visibly upset.”

The restaurant owner told police Simon “had no business photographing anyone in the restaurant, and was generally annoying,” according to the report.

Simon maintained he was invited to photograph the Marotta Brothers Band, and he didn’t feature Murray in any photographs published from that night.

“I’m not a paparazzi-type photographer, I’m just not,” Simon told the Boston Globe.

Simon is singer Carly Simon’s brother and has an extensive career of photographing musicians and celebrities, the Associated Press reported.

No charges have been filed in the case.

Murray has not responded to calls for comment.

This wouldn’t be the first time Murray has had a run-in with a professional photographer.

In 2017, he argued with a man trying to take his picture at a meet-and-greet following a concert and yelled at a woman who asked to take a picture with him, according to The Chicago Tribune
