Calling all kids and families to join us for a fun fall volunteer project at Birch State Park.We will be assisting the park by removing invasive plants and also litter clean-up. This will be a family-friendly, 2-hour project with tasks for everyone ages 3 and up!Below, please find a volunteer job description and a list of items that may be helpful to bring on the day of the project. It's our goal to make your experience fun, uplifting, and kid-friendly. This is an opportunity for customers, team members, and kids to partner together in service to our community. We'll have plenty of tasks and games on-site for little ones whose attention may wander. The best part is being all together!At 12:15pm after the project is completed, we will be providing a free lunch to all participants. We’ll have a build-your-own-salad-bar that includes all the toppings as we model the fun of eating a “rainbow” in honor of Whole Kids Foundation! VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION:
(Ages 3 and up) Volunteers will be divided into two groups. One group will be removing invading plants that can take over the natural eco-system of the park. The second group will be removing litter which can harm the animals, plants and the beauty of the park. SUPPLIES TO BRING IF YOU HAVE THEM:
* Gardening Gloves
* Shovels, hoes, trowels, etc.
WHAT TO WEAR:
* Jeans or shorts
* Closed toe, comfortable shoes
* SunglassesSNACKS & HYDRATION:
* Please bring reusable water bottles and water* If your child (or yourself) will require a snack before we have lunch, please bring with you. * We will have activities for those ages 7 and under if their attention wanders during the volunteeringVOLUNTEER SLIPS:*All participants, including children, must sign a waiver before participating. We ask that each volunteer bring a signed copy for everyone in your group to our project. That form will be available on-site in case you forget. FAQsWhat are my transport/parking options getting to the event?When arriving at the park, advise the guard that you are volunteering with Whole Foods Market. Parking fees will be waived that day for volunteers. We encourage carpooling and biking in! Once through the gate, proceed to Pavilion #1. Can I update my registration information?Absolutely!
