The Return of Buster Poindexter
Buster Poindexter, the suave alter ego of New York Dolls frontman David Johansen, will bring his classic lounge crooner character back to the stage for an exclusive run at The Cutting Room in New York City. Marking the first New York appearance of Buster Poindexter (“Hot, Hot, Hot”) after an absence of ten years, the shows are scheduled on four consecutive Tuesday evenings, starting April 16th – May 7th. (Details below). Before he donned tux and pompadour as Poindexter—the sophisticated lounge singer with stage presence to spare—Johansen was lead singer of the legendary proto punk band, the New York Dolls, who influenced the look of a generation of new wave and glam metal bands and played an important role in the New York rock scene that spawned the Ramones, Blondie and Talking Heads, among others.
