Food | Wine,
To “serve and protect” will take on a new meaning when the Broward Sheriff’s Office brings its annual Tip-a-Cop fundraiser for the Special Olympics (http://www.specialolympics.org) to J.G. McGuinness (http://jgmcguinness.com) on Wednesday, April 24. Come out for the night of fun as local deputies serve tables alongside J.G. McGuinness staff, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; working as “celebrity waiters” for tips*.
J.G. McGuinness will serve up its delicious menu of coastal and Irish dishes. Wash it down with 28 beers on tap from the pub’s custom draft system. In honor of this worthy cause, J.G. McGuinness will extend happy hour specials to 10:00 p.m. that night, including $4.00 well drinks, $4.00 draft beers, and $4.00 house wines all night.
One hundred percent of the money tipped* to deputies will go to support the Special Olympics. In addition to the money raised through tips, J.G. McGuinness has committed to donating 10% of the proceeds from the evening’s sales.
For more information on the event, visit J.G. McGuinness at http://jgmcguinness.com or follow the pub on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/JGMcGuinnessPub.
*Please note that deputies’ tips are separate from the tips J.G. McGuinness’ wait staff receives.

About Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics
Law enforcement officers from over 300 Florida agencies (police departments, sheriff's offices, Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Customs, Air Force Police and Marine Patrol) all participate in the state-wide torch run to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Florida. Each year, over 5,000 officers carry the torch on a 1500-mile relay through 66 counties in Florida.
Funds are generated through contributions from individuals and businesses along the way and through sales of the popular Torch Run T-shirts and caps. This event is held each year prior to Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games. The intrastate torch relay will start at the end of March and culminate at the Opening Ceremonies on May 17, 2013. Officers from around the state join together to bring the Flame of Hope™ into the stadium. Tip-a-Cop 0.00
