To recognize National Foster Care Month in May, Kids In Distress (KID) of Broward and Palm Beach counties, a licensed nationally accredited agency dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family and care and treatment of abused and neglected children, will host a USATF certified Hero 5K Run/Walk. Registration opens at 5 p.m. with runners starting at 6:30 p.m. and walkers at 6:40 p.m. Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero or inspirational figure.
