The Ladies Are At It Again For Our Annual Takeover. We try to cater to our ladies as much as we can but February is the month for our ladies to take United D&B and Smash the Dance! With Special Guests: LadyJ Spinz - Geishaz/ Miami Lady J started her love affair with underground music when she was just 13 in Daytona Beach, FL where Bass was a major part of the scene. From the Car shows, to the skating rink, she then started sneaking out and going to the afterhours parties and Raves in Orlando in 1994-1995. After hearing all the new House, techno, breakbeat, jungle and drum n bass she became an Underground Music addict. At the age of 16 she started spinning under the name DJ ISIS and immediately starting playing drum n bass, breaks and house. At this time she was travelling every weekend all up and down the east coast from Miami- Boston going to Raves. At 18 living in Tampa, she played at numerous underground parties, house parties, and a few times at Force Friday’s @ Masquerades. She then moved to NYC where she continued spinning out in the Underground Scene until 2002. After learning how to Bgirl, the name Lady J was born. She stopped spinning for a few years and took time out for life. After moving to Hollywood, FL in 2011 she purchased a set of Turntables and got her vinyl out and started practicing, while getting back in the South Fl Jungle scene. After a year of practice and making connections, LadyJ SPINZ made her comeback at the United D&B Junglist Ladies Takeover in February 2012 spinning all vinyl. Then she played the Mashup Miami WMC Rooftop party and became a regular at the Konkrete Jungle South FL shows. She has played numerous shows since March, including Reboot DNB All Ladies Takeover with Anna Gree , DJ TRIPP and MC Sopheye, PRL Funk &Bass Thursday's and First Friday's, Ground Zero Crew Basswalk main stage, United Dnb All Vinyl night, Who Can Roast The Most 2012 World Finals BBOY Competition, Miami. Lady J joined the Hipstep Zulu Massive chapter with TC Izlam’s full support in March 2012 and now to end out 2012 she became part of the All Female DJ Crew called Geishaz. It was then that she first heard Jungle/Drum n Bass and from then on was hooked! In 1999, she moved to Denver Colorado where she actually learned how to play records. As she moved forward with her art she began to get booked at a variety of clubs, parties and events in the Denver area. She began to get recognized and was given opportunities to be part of collectives such as Sister Denver which is a branch of Sister USA. She also took part in one of Denver's leading drum & bass crews, the Wreckin' Kru. In 2006, she wanted to move out of the US to gain a different perspective and decided to move to Costa Rica. She lived in Costa Rica for over three years and pushed and promoted the DnB sound to the fullest. During her time there, she worked closely with one of her newest affiliations, CR Junglist Crew (http://crjunglistcrew.com/) and worked hard to get the music moving!
