Alexz Johnson Alexz Johnson is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. She began writing songs at the age of 12. Her success in TV and film over the years (So Weird, Instant Star) has given her a supportive following to experiment her unique pop/soul/folk sound. After writing for and performing in multiple films & TV shows, Alexz attracted the attention of major labels, signing first to Capital in 2005 and then Sony Records in 2008. Due to internal changes, Alexz didn't get the opportunity to release her material. She has since been pursuing her career independently of the major label market. In 2012, Alexz decided to record and release an EP called "Skipping Stone" and launched a Kickstarter campaign in hopes to tour it.
