One Tree brings "SPECIAL BRANCH" back to the Hootananny for another big party night of three live bands plus DJs through to 3am.
Forged from their time together in Cymande, the legendary British funk band, FOWOKAN re-unites core member Sam Kelly (drums/bvs) with lead vocalist, Jimmy Lindsay. As well as this great funk connection, Jimmy brings a unique British reggae legacy to this outfit mixing in the roots sound of his iconic "Children of Rastafari" album.
Fowokan are bringing the spirit of roots reggae and fantastic British funk back to both festival and venue stages with a great lineup of musicians who have so much passion for their music.
The Soul Immigrants continue to make original and intelligent jazzy, deep funk grooves. They have every right to sound confident; their variety shows itself through the music, and combined with the influence of a previous generation of funk and soul results in a character that would be hard to emulate.
This six piece are real funk masters for sure with the grittiest of horn sections and vocals to die for ! This is retro feel-good music - unashamedly yesterdays sounds for today!
