Rise 305 is looking for your assistance with our efforts to create a Snoezelen Room - asafe and non-threatening environment where children with disabilities or other limitingconditions can enjoy gentle stimulation of the primary senses. Without this room, many children will be unable to achieve any mental growth due to their disability. AtAddlington School in Reading, England, for example, teaching staff find SNOEZELENroom an “invaluable resource…useful or a wide range of ages and abilities and a variedcurriculum.” This room will enable children to experience self-control, autonomous discovery, andexploration, allowing them to overcome inhibitions, enhance self-esteem, and reducetension. This room will serve as a critical component to the sustainable success ofPATCHES and the overall well-being of the children they serve. In addition to the Snoezelen Room, our team plans to bring “Disney World” to the childrenat PATCHES, whom due to their terminal illness or inability travel, will never have theopportunity. This event will bring much needed joy and an experience they will never forget. Kickball Rules1). Maximum of 12 players on the field. They can be arranged in any manner you chose, but there must be a pitcher and a catcher. No player may be closer to the kicker than the pitcher. Players must be even to or behind the pitcher.2). First two unseeded round games will be 3 innings unless we are running short on time, then the games may be shortened. The seeded rounds will be 4 innings.3). Each person who played on the field must bat once before a player may bat a second time in an inning. In other words, you must follow a batting rotation each inning.4). There are no stealing bases at any time. No leading off or leaving before the ball is kicked. You will be called out if attempting to steal and or your foot is not on the base up until the time when the kicker strikes the ball.5). Fielders may throw the ball at or below a base runner’s shoulders for an out. Hitting anyone in the face or head may results in an automatic 2 bases for each base runner. However, if the runner ducks or throws his/her head into the line of the ball intentionally, no extra bases will be awarded and it is considered an out.6). Pitchers: The pitch must be rolled into the kicker’s box or it will be called a ball. 4=walk, 3 foul balls=out. No strike outs.7). Kickers: The kicker in only permitted one touch on the ball (no trapping and kicking). You must kick the ball while it is still moving and when it is in the kicker’s box.8). Bunting is permitted. 9). The references have complete control over the game. Be smart. If the refs think you are being unsafe or unsportsmanlike, they will remove you from the game.
