Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 8pm Gusman Concert Hall Frost Concert Jazz Band Dante Luciani, conductor Felipe Lamoglia, tenor and soprano saxophoneThe incredible Frost Concert Jazz Band (multiple DownBeat Collegiate Award winners) and special guest artist Felipe Lamoglia play burning big band arrangements with a heavy dose of Afro-Cuban and Latin rhythms in the group's annual Afro-Cuban concert. Felipe Lamoglia is an award-winning tenor saxophonist born in Holguin, Cuba. He lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for sevenyears before moving to the United Statesin 2001. He has performed with musical giants Arturo Sandoval, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Celia Cruz, Hiovanni Hidalgo, Raul de Souza, Bocato, Conrad Herwick, Ignacio Berroa, Dafnis Prieto, Eldar Djangirov, and many others. He was co-producer on Arturo Sandoval's 2007 Grammy Award-winning CD, Rhumba Palace (Best Latin Jazz Album) and performs as a featured soloist in major U.S. and international music festivals.
