Jacobi draws so many comparisons when people hear him sing. He has heard Tank, Trey Songz, Slim of 112, and one time he even heard Latif! The only conclusion you can draw from such diverse comparisons would be that Jacobi has his own sound - like all great artists do. As a homegrown Alabama native, his singing did come from the church and has influenced him as an artist today and has even allowed him to discover his talent as a keyboardist. As he sits behind his keyboard and sings effortlessly for his many Youtube followers, you would never suspect that one of his greatest musical inspirations is the “King of Pop” himself, Michael Jackson. Jacobi knew that growing up he wanted to be more than a singer but an entertainer like Jackson. Family members can recall a young Jacobi imitating Jackson’s moves and singing and even his daily attempts of ‘moonwalking.’ As a new performer, Jacobi easily wins the crowd over. His first place ranking in 2010 at Atlanta’s “Art of Muziq” showcase was his first confirmation that he has a place in this industry. Such accomplishments were followed by being one of the few selected as an “Emerging Artist” for the Sound and Image Showcase that is sponsored by some of the biggest record labels in the country and even a magazine feature as “Male Artist of the Month” at starcentralmagazine.com. Today, you can hear Jacobi’s well-received debut, “The Art of Persuasion” on iTunes and other digital venues. This is the beginning of his career and there are so many places to go for Jacobi because he is so talented, but his work ethic is going to allow him to rise above the rest.
