Bold, free and uncompromising; Collette represents a new breed of independent artistry. And with the release of her third project of songs of life, love, and liberation on Juneteenth Revolution, Collette arrives.
Juneteenth Revolution is born from the idea of people seizing the freedoms they already have. The Juneteenth holiday, aka Emancipation Day, is Collette's birthday and a lifelong source of contemplation. This red clay daughter born into a long bloodline of unconventional female musicians spent years honing her own three-octave alto in the choir rafters, performing in marching bands and jazz recitals, but also studying piano, baritone and alto saxophone.
In 2008, Collette released her heartfelt debut Experience Collette to critical acclaim. Soon, she was opening for such national artists as Chrisette Michelle, Talib Kweli, Eric Roberson, Rachelle Ferrell and Noel Gourdin.
Four years later, Juneteenth Revolution delivers an evolved sound produced by new talents like Okayplayer artist Danny Swain, Terry "20" Poindexter (Raheem DeVaughn, Jazmine Sullivan) and Aaron Hardin (Ebrahim, Kenny Wesley) among others. Incorporating elements of pop, hip hop, and contemporary R&B, Collette provides an eclectic but accessible collection of soulful jams ready for both Urban and Urban Adult Contemporary radio formats.
Juneteenth Revolution announces a personal, spiritual, and emotional liberation - set to the beat of a joyfully quirky drum. Learn more at http://collettemusic.com. BAR: $10.00 TABLE:$10.00
