His earliest influences were inspired by his Cuban upbringing. He discovered artists such as Beny More, Willy Chirino, the late Celia Cruz, and Los Munequitos de Matanzas. He also discovered a passion for R&B artists of the 90's such as D'Angelo. After completing his A.A. at MDC as the Honours Graduate of the music department, Victor was accepted into the prestigous Jazz Guitar department at the University of North Florida.
