A Portentous Injury Led Markus To Redirect His Focus On Jazz Music, And After Graduating From Western Connecticut University, He Moved To South Florida To Enter Into In-Depth Study And Mentorship With Legendary Pianist Michael Gerber. When Markus Set Out To Plan His Next Original Jazz Project, He Was Eager To Incorporate The Wealth Of Global Sounds That He Had Come Across During Years Of Performing In South Florida Venues And Concert Series, Such As The Colony, Byron Carlyle Theater, And Jazz At Moca. Markus’s Compositions On The New Album Reflect These Influences, Combining Central European Aesthetics With Those Of The Americas As Interpreted By An Elegant Ensemble That Includes Violin, Cello, And Accordion.
