Major Powers and the Lo-Fi Symphony Nicholas Jarvis Powers, self-taught pianist and songwriter, has been rolling around in the gutters of Contra Costa County since he was a little kid. Kevin and Dylan Gautschi (guitar & drums, respectively) are French brothers and are the sons of Pamela Wood, bass player for Bay Area rock legends Leila & The Snakes. Major Powers & The Lo-Fi Symphony is their band. They play what they like to call Adventure Rock™. They would love to see you at a show. Decendents of Prospectors Descendants of Prospectors is an eclectic, experimental songwriting project formed by Kiel Williams and Rick Moore, graduates of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2005, the Kiel and Rick discovered two unique sets of complimentary talents in performance, writing and engineering, which prompted the formation of Great Modulator Productions, a recording studio and music production company currently based in the beautiful Gold Rush town, Murphys, CA. Upon completion of their original studio album entitled "I and We" under the band name "Kiel Williams and the Descendants of Prospectors", Rick and Kiel began forming a group to perform the songs off the album. "Descendants of Prospectors" has quickly become a veritable staple of the music and art community of Murphys, a town whose wine-based culture and beautiful scenery demands a vibrant art and music scene. The last few years have seen an incredible surge of youth and fantastic events happening in the foothills, and it's the mission of the band to continue promoting a loving, joyous atmosphere through giving to the community! "Descendants of Prospectors" now features: Owen Ridings, on vocals and guitars, formerly of "The Fly". Owen brings a sultry singing voice, along with a spark and unmatched talent, including dozens of original songs. Nicholas Lefler, on drums, founding member of the local latin reggae supergroup ALMA. Nicholas brings over 10 years of touring band experience to the group, and a rhythmic tightness and ingenuity that's simply unparalleled. Caleb Galvan, on Bass. Gabriel Crane, on synthesizers Rick Moore, on sax, drum pad, vocals, and synthesizers. Kiel Williams, on vocals and guitar Opposition ondon Jackson and Jacob Chatelain, who have been close friends since elementary school, formed the band in early 2011. In the summer of 2012 Max Mann joined their music scene. Each of these young men discovered their passion for music at a very young age; together they have developed the unique sounds and songs of Opposition. Jacob's intense passion for the drums gives him incredible energy on stage; Max's voice, guitar and bass guitar skills compliment Jacob's dynamic, and London Jackson's unique approach to song writing, singing and guitar serve as a powerful anchor for the band. Emotion comes streaming through all of Opposition's songs. In 'The Roof' London pays tribute to his beloved uncle who committed suicide at a young age; in 'Philly Angst' Opposition makes fun of how much of teenage life "sucks"; 'These Girls' is a nod to the intensity of love and lust during the teenage years; 'Photographs' pays attention to the deep connection people create in small-town life; 'Electric Mess' points to media taking over their generation, and 'The War' focuses on the band's deep collective desire for world peace. Opposition has been playing all-ages clubs, coffee shops, art centers and summer festivals in Northern California for the past year and will be recording in the studio this winter. Persist to Rise Persist To Rise is a solid formation of four good friends driven to play original music. The first two pieces of the puzzle of this band came together in the summer of 2011, when Julian Telles and Kehan Wenger started to jam together. After several months, jamming evolved into songwriting. Eventually they added a third piece to the puzzle, Romain Telles on keyboard. It was the winter of 2011/2012 when Noah Baughman the band on guitar. This was the creation of “Above Control”. After many shows and practices we found that the band was not thriving like it used to. They decided to move on in a new direction with a different genre and a fresh new guitarist, who is the fourth piece of the puzzle, Simon Lace. This band is now known as Persist To Rise. $5.00 - $10.00
