Organization TheUrbanCollective Primary Category Fairs, Festivals & Shows Extras Hosted by TheUrbanCollective, Art Africa Miami 2012 is a juried multidisciplinary exhibition of fine contemporary art from the global African Diaspora. This year's exhibition will host 50 seasoned and emerging contemporary artists from Africa, the Caribbean, North America, Europe and South America in a tent/container hybrid model pavilion situated in the heart of Downtown Miami. Art Africa Miami's First Look is Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. Special guest will be the Honorable Prime Minister of Haiti, Laurent Lamothe. First Look is open to Art Africa Miami and Art Art Africa Miami and Art Basel VIP card holders. Regular Fair hours are Friday when Jamaica's 50th anniversary will be celebrated from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. To 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a closing reception planned for 4 to 6 p.m. featuring some of Art Africa Miami's exhibiting artists and music provided by the Miami Jazz Society.
