Season two of the Belen Jesuit Cultural Series will include a performance by Puerto Rican actor, singer, composer and television personality Carlos Ponce on Saturday, January 26 at 8 p.m. The Belen Jesuit Jazz Band conducted by Marlene Urbay will perform alongside Ponce classic American & Latin standards.
The star of the Spanish-language soap opera Sentimientos Ajenos, Ponce has also had roles on Hablando, Fuego en la Sangre, Control and Entertainment Tonight, among others, and appeared in feature films. But this concert appearance will showcase Ponce's musical career, which has seen him release numerous full-length albums (including 2012's Me Llevas), achieve multi-platinum sales worldwide, and reach No. 1 on the Latin Billboard charts.
The Belen Cultural Series is a cultural resource to the community while continuing to enrich the lives of our students, their families, alumni, Belen faculty and administration.
Net proceeds from the Cultural Series benefit the Belen Scholarship Program. Every year Belen provides financial assistance to over 300 students, distributing $1.8 million annually. $55 General Admission, includes post-concert reception with the artists
