Movimientos inject a dose of Latin, dub and swing vibes into Brixton’s no.1 destination for roots and global live sounds. London's new Latin revolutionaries Wara will be headlining and stirring up the unbeatable Wara storm, after some big Hip Hop and Dub with a Middle Eastern flavour from Dread-I Light and the Bennu Dub Ensemble, AND new style Swing, Jazz and more from Eric Ness and his six piece band...all live!! Plus our own DJ Cal Jader drops the newest Latin sounds and tropical bass.
London's Latin musical revolutionaries
Currently recording their much anticipated debut album, Wara have smashed it this summer with showstopping performances at BT London Live, New Voices Festival, Secret Garden, Shoreditch Festival and Leefest to name but a few. The band have concocted an epic new musical genre of their own with strong Cuban roots; a hot melting pot of identities and musical influences from all over the world: Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Ghana, Congo, Spain and the UK. Combining a lyrically conscious approach with exceptional musicianship, this is a band that demands to be heard.
"(Wara are) at the cutting edge… of the musical pulse." Lopa Kothari, BBC Radio 3
Dread-I-Light & The Bennu Dub Ensemble
Hip Hop and Dub with Middle Eastern flavours
South London’s Bennu Dub Ensemble play an energetic mix of experimental Dub and Hip Hop. Led by vocalist/MC Dread I Light, who delivers an upbeat conscious message through word play and song, together they create a sound that is both powerful and new, with “hypnotic rhythms and engaging musical conversations."
Swing, Jazz and melodic acoustic rock 'n' roll
With his 6-piece band behind him, Eric Ness has recently performed across Europe and in a US Tour. Ness’ music sees a mix of pop, jazz and indie rock, with exclusively acoustic elements.
