Season two of the Belen Jesuit Cultural Series will include an encore performance by an Authentic Flamenco Troupe directly from Seville, Spain on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. in the Roca Theatre. Flamenco Puro, in partnership with La Fundación de Arte Flamenco Cristina Heeren features world-renowned dancer Luicia Palicio.
“We are excited to welcome back to the Belen Jesuit stage this acclaimed group of performers. They took part in our Inaugural Season last year and were such a tremendous audience favorite,” said Jesuit Father Pedro Suárez, President of the school. “Flamenco music and dancing has a unique way of connecting with people and we welcome the community to join us on what’s destined to be a wonderful night,”
Dancer Luisa Palicio was born in Malaga, Spain in 1984. She began to study dance when she was four years old and has been performing worldwide since. She is a skilled dancer in flamenco, classical ballet, Spanish classical ballet and contemporary dance.
The Belen Cultural Series is a cultural resource to the community while continuing to enrich the lives of our students, their families, alumni, Belen faculty and administration.
Net proceeds from the Cultural Series benefit the Belen Scholarship Program. Every year Belen provides financial assistance to over 300 students, distributing $1.8 million annually. General Admission $35 includes post-concert reception with the artists.
