Beyoncé cover girl of Time's 'most influential' edition

Beyoncé is this year's cover girl for the annual list of "Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World" released Thursday.

The magazine also created inside "covers" featuring actor Robert Redford, GM CEO Mary Barra and Jason Collins, the NBA's first openly gay player.

The Time 100 is the magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. This year's issue features tributes written by high-profile guest contributors.

Why Beyoncé on the cover? As website Idolator writes: "Over the past year, Bey has completed a global tour, released a visual album under cover of night which single-handedly revived the music industry while shattering its status quo and oh right the music was also incredibly good. "
